Guns have created a society of cowards
I write this very saddened by the death of former Baltimore Raven and Tennessee Titan icon, Steve McNair. It was reported that he was shot in the head along with a female companion. When is America going to address this insane love affair with guns? It serves no purpose but death and destruction and has turned a society into a bunch of "sissies" that can't settle an argument or misunderstanding without shooting somebody. If someone wronged you, take it outside and fight with your hands like a man, don't be a coward and just shoot somebody.
Not too long ago Carl Landry, a young forward for the Houston Rockets was in his car with a companion, in Houston, when a bunch of thugs shot at him multiple times and even chased him on foot still firing. Landry escaped with a calf wound that had him out for a little while.
America refuses to learn it's lesson, Columbine happened and everybody focused on everything but how easily those kids were able to get access to military type weapons. These where high school kids!! Who is monitoring gun control? Shouldn't the government appoint a secretary for Gun control? Because right now getting a gun is a easy as getting a McDonald's sandwich. Heck, the gun sellers can even tell you..."you can have it your way".
I know these are athletes and people are killed everyday, but sometimes it takes a celebrity or athlete to be killed to bring light to the senseless violence. I am tired of the Gun enthusiasts saying Guns don't kill people, people do....what a load of grade A BS! If you are into Guns so much then go sign up for the military and go kill some terrosists. Too many times these guns are not well protected and anyone can get their hands on it.
I hope there isn't anything else to McNair's death that will tarnish his reputation like what Chris Benoit did to his family. I loved him in Baltimore for the 2 seasons he was a Raven and even enjoyed his brief appearance on the reality show "Pros vs Joes".
Somebody please regulate these guns and lets start dishing out harsh punishments to individuals who carry guns without permits, or the manufacturers or retailers. We are losing good, young people.
